HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – O’Charley’s in Hopkinsville will be closing their doors for good, with their final day of operation suddenly set for Sept. 9.
According to Christian County Now news partner WKRN, Nashville-based O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar is closing all its remaining locations nationwide at 8 p.m. tonight. This includes Middle Tennessee locations nearby and other Kentucky locations like Owensboro.
In response to the sudden layoff of over a dozen people, the West Kentucky Workforce Board in Hopkinsville has announced a Rapid Response Meeting for all local O’Charley’s employees. This type of meeting is designed to connect workers with resources to help navigate a transition to new employment, according to the board.
This could include sharing information about unemployment benefits, starting a job search, resume preparation and more. Two meetings will be held on Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Kentucky Career Center in Hopkinsville, 110 Riverfront Drive.
According to their website, WKWB serves the seventeen counties of the Pennyrile/Purchase in providing policy development and coordination for workforce development in support of economic development for the region. The WKWB also governs the local Kentucky Career Center System in the Purchase and Pennyrile counties of Kentucky. Serving as the fiscal agent for the WKWB, the Pennyrile Area Development District is involved in the program administration, oversight and service delivery of Department of Labor initiatives throughout the service area.
