HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County invites the public to an upcoming Quilt Show at the Pennyroyal Area Museum. The show opens on Tuesday, April 21 and will be on display through Saturday, May 30, 2026.

The exhibition features 16 quilts and decorative quilt tops from the museum’s collection. Each one is a beautiful, handcrafted work of art and represents hours of time and dedication. With quilts ranging from the 1860s into the 1970s, this show provides a wide variety of quilting styles and technique in this rich American textile tradition.

Special Events during the Quilt Show

Tuesday, April 21, 4-6 p.m.: Opening Reception for Museum Members.

Join them for a special members-only evening in the exhibit! Museum Members will have the opportunity to explore the quilt show in a special after-hours opening reception. Saturday, May 16, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: Quilt Show & Tell

Have a quilt you’d like to share? Bring it to the Pennyroyal Area Museum on Saturday, May 16. We invite quiltmakers and quilt owners to bring one of their favorite pieces and to share its story while visitors browse. Quilts will be displayed for one day only. Free admission to all who bring a quilt to show.

Tuesday, June 2, 2-4 p.m.: Quilt Packing & Storing

As they close our Quilt Show, they invite the community to the museum to learn all about quilt packing and proper storage techniques. Help them put the quilts away with Museum registrar Amber Selfe as she demonstrates best practices for storing these precious, historic textiles in this hands-on museum experience. Apply what you learn to your own quilts at home.
