HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – As America’s 250th anniversary approaches this July Fourth, the public is reminded of regulations for use inside the city limits of Hopkinsville along with some places to see a fireworks show.
An ordinance has established that fireworks are permitted to be used within the City of Hopkinsville between July 1 and July 5. They can be set off between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. Fireworks cannot be discharged on public property or within 200 feet of any structure, vehicle or person.
The Hopkinsville Fire Department is also encouraging people to have a water source nearby to prevent a fire. Adult supervision should always be present when children are there, and fireworks should not be aimed at anything other than the sky.
