HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There are a lot of things to check out this weekend in and around Hopkinsville-Christian County. Over 60 local sellers and stores are mapped out as part of the 400 Mile Sale. Plus, up in Crofton people are getting ready to spend the weekend in the dirt with Holler Bash and the library has fun family events.

Holler Bash

  • Where: 1350 Manire Road, Crofton

  • Details: Holler Bash will bring four days of mud riding, live music and outdoor entertainment to Crofton. The event will feature performances by Twang and Round, Dusty Leigh, Bubba Sparxxx and Moonshine Mafia Parker, along with appearances and entertainment from Can-Am Chris. Organizers encourage attendees to bring off-road vehicles, coolers and camping gear for the multi-day gathering.

400 Mile Sale

  • Where: Multiple locations in Hopkinsville-Christian County
  • When: June 4-7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Details: During this four-day event travelers, locals and road trippers are mapping out routes to hit as many sales as possible along the stretch of Highway 68 from the Lakes to North Kentucky. Nearly 60 of independent yard sellers and local shops are participating in just Hopkinsville and are mapped on the 400 Mile Sale website.

Magician Terry Hedges presents “Unearthing the Magic”

Dog Days of Summer

  • Where: Christian County Animal Shelter
  • When: June 5-6, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Cost: Free to attend
  • Details: Authentic Puerto Rican cuisine will be served during this fun event alongside the 400 Mile Sale. Adoption fees will be reduced for those looking to bring home a new pet, with microchipping and nail trimming available on site. Vendors will at the shelter alongside food.

Bark For Life

  • Where: Hopkinsville Dog Park in Hopkinsville
  • When: June 6, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Cost: $10 for the first dog, $5 for each additional dog
  • Details: Christian County Relay for Life will host Bark For Life, a community event welcoming dogs of all kinds for contests, activities and prizes. Categories include oldest and youngest dog, look-alike contest, best costume, cutest or ugliest dog, best trick and furthest traveled. Registration is available online through Bark For Life of Christian County.

Yoga in the Park

  • Where: Westside Park in Hopkinsville
  • When: June 6 at 10 a.m.

  • Details: Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation and Balance Hoptown will host Yoga in the Park, giving participants a chance to enjoy outdoor yoga surrounded by nature. The event encourages community members to bring a mat and take part in a relaxing, open-air session focused on mindfulness and movement.

Time Capsule Burial

  • Where: Hopkinsville Christian County Public Library
  • When: June 6, 11 a.m.

  • Details: As part of the summer reading program, the library is inviting families in the community to contribute items to a time capsule that will not be reopened for ten years. The time capsule will be assembled, sealed and buried during a ceremony in the front of the library.
