HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 25-year-old and 26-year-old were arrested in Hopkinsville after several guns were found inside of their vehicle.
Hopkinsville Police Department received reports of two men waving guns outside the window of a car while doing donuts in the parking lot of Next Level Bar and Lounge on July 7 at 2 a.m. When officers later approached the vehicle, the suspects attempted to drive away, hitting other occupied vehicles in the parking lot, according to a police report from HPD.
They eventually stopped at the end of the parking lot, and the driver and passenger were detained by police. It was discovered that the driver had an expired license and no vehicle registration or insurance. Officers also determined the passenger was a convicted felon and was under the influence of alcohol.
A search of the vehicle and suspects revealed the passenger had a Glock with an extended clip, a loaded NPA Defender in the floorboard of the vehicle, and two more accessible handguns in the back seat. Restricted ammo was found in one of the handguns as well. He is being charged with wanton endangerment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, using restricted ammo, and public intoxication.
The driver is facing seven charges including wanton endangerment, and evading police.
