HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Extremely high temperatures are expected for the rest of the week in and around Hopkinsville, with the high on Wednesday reaching 99 degrees, and the heat index possibly going up to 105 degrees.
Thursday, more sun and heat is expected with a high of 100 degrees ahead of predicted storms, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will drop to the mid 80s after storms begin to roll in Friday night through Sunday.
Although a heat advisory is not in place by the NWS, they are advising people to use caution when spending time outdoors, and drink plenty of water while taking frequent breaks.
