HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after fleeing from police through a neighborhood near Henson Drive.
Hopkinsville Police officers initially attempted a traffic stop when the suspect was seen driving with no seatbelt on Woodson Drive, according to a police report. He failed to yield to officers, accelerating into a private driveway on Henson Drive and exiting the car while it was still in motion. The car continued moving, crashing into the garage at the end of the driveway which caused about $1,000 in damage.
Officers engaged in an on-foot pursuit as the suspect fled across multiple streets and over fences in the area. HPD was able to locate the suspects wallet near the abandoned car and determined he did not have a valid driver’s license and learned of his address on Rose Drive. The suspect was located hiding inside of the known residence, along with two children.
The man was arrested and is facing seven charges including fleeing or evading police and criminal mischief.
