HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 45-year-old man was arrested for drug trafficking after fleeing from police Wednesday morning.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 29, the suspect was seen by a Hopkinsville Police patrol car driving on Walnut Street without a seatbelt. A traffic stop was initiated, and the man fled from the vehicle on foot, according to a police report.
The arresting officer proceeded to chase the suspect, who threw a bag of cocaine before he was apprehended near Coleman Street and East 18th Street. Upon arrest, cash was found on the suspect, and it was determined he had a suspended driver’s license. He was arrested and is being charged with fleeing or evading police, and trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree.
