HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville Police Department made a fentanyl possession arrest on Sept. 27 as part of an ongoing investigation.

A release from the department spoke about the ongoing drug trafficking operation being investigated by the Special Investigations Unit and Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement. “Evidence obtained during the investigation led to a federal search warrant being executed at the residence. … Upon execution of the search warrant, investigators seized approximately 1 ounce of a tan powder substance that was later determined to contain fentanyl through laboratory analysis. In addition, other illegal narcotics and proceeds from the illicit sales were also seized from (the) residence.”

A few weeks ago, the HPD had made another fentanyl arrest within this investigation after finding a pound of fentanyl and weapons during a bust.

The man arrested has been charged with multiple drug trafficking offenses. HPD plans to continue working with the community and pursuing drug dealers in Hopkinsville, the release said.
