HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 63-year-old man was arrested on Saturday after being connected to several robberies in and around Christian County. The arrest came when Sapore Ristorante Steakhouse on Novadell Way was burglarized just after midnight on March 8. HPD reported that a cellphone and 6 bottles of bourbon were stolen.

Around 11 a.m. later that day, officers made contact with the suspect at 23rd Street in Hopkinsville to serve an arrest warrant referencing a previous burglary at the construction site of the new Christian County High School on Feb. 23.

A police report said various burglary tools were found in plain view of the car he was unloading when they approached. After an investigation, HPD made the connection to the Sapore burglary and recovered one of the bottles of bourbon, the cellphone from the restaurant, the clothing he was wearing during the robbery that was caught on security cameras, and items other robberies in Clarksville, Tennessee and Iowa.

Meth and marijuana were also found on his person and in his vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia inside his residence. He was arrested and taken to Christian County jail with multiple burglary and drug possession charges.
