HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a high-speed chase spanning over several miles through Christian County.
Around 2:20 p.m. on March 30, a motorcycle with a male driver and a female passenger was spotted on Fort Campbell Boulevard going 96 mph in a 45-mph zone. Deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop, but the motorcyclists did not yield to law enforcement and continued driving at a high rate of speed.
A news release from CCSO states that the motorcycle reached speeds of 150 mph, running multiple red lights, making unsafe lane changes, and demonstrating reckless disregard for his passenger, who later told to deputies that she feared for her safety and urged him to stop.
After pursuing the suspect for over seven miles, the motorcycle pulled over near the 8900 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard and was arrested. He is being charged with several traffic violations along with fleeing or evading police, and wanton endangerment.
