HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 20-year-old man is facing criminal charges after firing a shot into a home on North Fowler Avenue on Monday afternoon.

An arrest report from the Hopkinsville Police Department says officers were called to the area around 2 p.m. on April 21. The incident stemmed from a brief verbal altercation that occurred after a group of three young males and teenagers, including the suspect, encountered two individuals walking through the alley on North Fowler Avenue.

The police report says one of the teens advised the incoming witnesses he was going to “shoot up” the place, prompting the two individuals to walk back to a residence on North Fowler Avenue. After entering the home and sitting in the living room, they heard a gunshot and a bullet went through the front door of the home, striking the interior wall.

They both later identified the 20-year-old suspect as one of the males in the group of teenagers they had encountered in the alley.

Through further investigation it was determined that the firearm used was stolen and was in the possession of the suspect. Officers also concluded that he shot into the home, initially handing off the firearm off to another party. He is facing several charges including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, using restricted ammo during a felony, and receiving stolen property.
