HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 22-year-old homeless woman with multiple warrants out for her arrest was caught and placed in the Chrisitan County Jail after fleeing on foot throughout a neighborhood on Sunday.
On June 15 around 6:15 p.m., a patrolling officer with the Hopkinsville Police Department observed a woman exit an abandoned home at 107 North Kentucky Avenue. The woman was approached due to recent break ins and drug use in vacant homes, and she threw her backpack and fled on foot.
The officer began running after her as the suspect proceeded to jump over several chain link fences in backyards. Other units with HPD quickly responded to the scene in an attempt to locate the suspect.
An arrest report from HPD says that she was spotted about 15 minutes later when began to run and hop fences again. She was eventually caught and arrested near North McPherson Avenue.
The suspect was found to not have a home address, and had two active warrants out of Christian County, along with an extraditable warrant out of Tennessee. She was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, and for being a fugitive from another state.
