HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This Labor Day weekend, there are a few events going on around Christian County to check out. Grab some barbecue or see a concert in Oak Grove, check out the art scene in downtown Hopkinsville, or party at Founders Square during a new event.

Participating businesses will be hosting local artists and musicians showcasing their work – stroll from one location to the next, grab a bite to eat, visit the Farmers Market, and enjoy everything Downtown Hopkinsville has to offer.

- When: Friday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m.
- Cost: Ticket prices start at $46

- Cost: $15 per plate
- Details: Join the city for the Fort Campbell Masonic Lodge 946 Annual BBQ Fundraiser. They will be serving up plates of pulled pork, quarter chicken, or pork and chicken together. Enjoy a meal while supporting a beloved community tradition that has been running for over 50 years. All proceeds to toward community projects and lodge initiatives.

- When: Saturday, Aug. 30 from 8 a.m.- 1p.m.
- Cost: Free
- Details: This free training is for everyone, including residents, renters and buyers, property managers, landlords, real estate agents, lenders and social service organizations. Know your rights and learn how to recognize housing discrimination. Also learn about your options for homeownership. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
- Where: Founders Square in downtown Hopkinsville
- When: Saturday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m.
- Cost: Free plus cost of food
- Details: This fun event downtown will feature live music from Soul in the Pocket, beats by DJ Prep, and community favorite food trucks. People are also encouraged to bring their cowboy boots and fans for some line dancing.
