HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A total of eight warrants were served to Amanda and Joseph Banks of Hopkinsville, with the couple suspected of being responsible for extreme acts of child abuse. Both of them were served one warrant per child for abuse against each of their four children and were arrested on Vass Lane around 11 p.m. on Aug. 31.

According to Officer Royale Marfil with the Hopkinsville Police Department, the two are accused of physically abusing the four children in various ways and forced them to watch sexually explicit programs. In addition, the children were often locked inside a bedroom, and were subjected to shock collars on their neck, legs, and arms.

The warrants include charges for assault, criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12, strangulation, and distribution of obscene matter to a minor
