HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 20-year-old was arrested after a man was shot in Hopkinsville Friday night. According to an arrest report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Beach Street and Poston Avenue in reference to a shooting with injuries around 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 5.

The victim, a 43-year-old man, was found in the road with a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to Jennie Stuart medical Center.

Officers on the scene spoke to the family Jaden Miller, who was suspected of being responsible for the shooting. They were able to locate him and take him into custody around 11 p.m. A report from HPD says the victim did not know the suspect before the shooting.

After speaking with police, Miller admitted to being responsible for the shooting. He is being charged with assault in the first degree and was taken to the Christian County Jail.
