HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a shooting of minors that occurred on Monday and released more information about this ongoing investigation.

On Sept. 15 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department were dispatched to the James Village Apartments in reference to two individuals being shot. Initial response to the incident determined that two 16-year-old males had been shot, one in the leg and one in the shoulder.

Throughout the investigation, numerous witnesses were interviewed, and video evidence was acquired, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old male. He has been charged and is lodged at the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Facility. He has been charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Possession of a Handgun by a Minor.

HPD confirms that this is still an ongoing open investigation. The potential for additional arrests or additional charges for those involved remains a possibility.
