HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This weekend there are several events going on around Hopkinsville, including local actors taking the stage for a production of a family favorite, a chance to go back to medieval times, the opportunity to see some classic cars, and a fall event to bring the community together.

Campanile Productions presents Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

  • When: Sept. 25-28
  • Where: The Alhambra Theater
  • Cost: Ticket prices start at $17
  • Details: Campanile Productions welcomes the community to a world of imagination as they bring the crowd-pleasing and well-beloved Charlie & The Chocolate Factory play to the historic Alhambra.

Tree Week Tour of Trees & Tombstones

  • When: Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Where: Riverside Cemetery
  • Cost: Advance tickets are $10, free for museum members
  • Details: The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the Christian County Master Gardeners invite the community to take an evening stroll in Riverside Cemetery. The tour will feature identification of trees, discussion of symbolism on historic tombstones, and stories of the lives of people laid to rest in the cemetery.

Fall Fun Day

  • When: Sept. 27 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
  • Where: Ruff Park in Hopkinsville
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Ward 3 Councilmember Don Marsh is hosting a fall fun day where residents can talk to city leaders, with a community forum being held at noon. The day will also have a cookout with a cop with free burgers and hot dogs, touch a truck, games, and live music.

Ye Olde Bookwyrm Renaissance Faire

  • Where: Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library
  • When: Sept. 27, 12:00–6:00 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Step into a medieval village for the Ye Olde Bookwyrm Renaissance Faire! Enjoy family-friendly fun with the Queen’s Quest scavenger hunt, obstacle course, crafts, and games. Watch performances including live music by The Secret Commonwealth Band, KY Shakespeare scenes, fire stunts, and fencing demonstrations by the Nashville School of Historical Fencing. The event also features a marketplace with local vendors and food. Renaissance-themed attire is encouraged.

Beyond the Book Story Hour

  • Where: Hopkinsville Visitor’s Center
  • When: Sept. 27, 11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: The Christian County Literacy Council is hosting a fun afternoon for young readers, where they can listen to a book and have fun together. Families can come to the Visitor’s Center Saturday morning to hear Mr. Jason and Miss Tamea read a story and lead an activity.

HCC Pathfinder Cruise-In

  • Where: Hopkinsville Community College
  • When: Sept. 27, 12:00–4:00 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the 3rd Annual HCC Pathfinder Cruise-In! Show off your car or admire others in categories including Chevy, Chrysler, Ford, Orphan, Student, and President’s Awards—designed by HCC Digital (3D) Printing and CMM students. The event features giveaways, a DJ, and food trucks.
