HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was arrested on Sunday after throwing a rock through a glass door at the Salvation Army in downtown Hopkinsville.
Hopkinsville police were alerted on Sunday evening around 4:30 p.m., with officers dispatched to the food pantry on Clay Street. A Salvation Army Lieutenant on staff advised that while walking to his vehicle, he was approached by a 30-year-old homeless man who asked about having access to the shelter, according to an arrest report.
While the lieutenant explained the process, the suspect asked if the police would be called if he threw a rock through the window. He then grabbed a rock and threw it at the door. Due to the customized tinted glass on the door, repairs are estimated to cost around $3,500.
The suspect was arrested and charged with criminal mischief in the first degree.
