HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville man is facing charges after his dog fatally attacked another dog in a neighborhood off of Skyline Drive.
On Feb. 10 around 5:30 p.m., officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department were notified that an escaped dog on Lucky Debonair Street was attacking another dog near a residence.
The owner told HPD that he chased the dog in an attempt to catch up to it but was unable to reach the dog until after the attack, according to a police report. HPD says the other dog died as a result of its injuries.
The owner stated that his backyard gate was secured the last time it was checked. He was not taken into custody but is being charged with permitting a vicious dog to run at large and harboring a vicious animal.
