HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A woman suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and drugs was arrested after flipping her car on Valentine’s Day.

On Feb. 14 around 2 a.m., Hopkinsville Police was alerted to a crash near the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Masonville Road via iPhone Crash Detection. A collision report from HPD says officers found an overturned vehicle in the median, with the female driver trapped inside.

After she was successful extracted from the car, officers noted that there was an odor of alcohol. The 29-year-old Clarksville, Tennessee woman told HPD that she was drinking and smoking marijuana while driving the vehicle before the crash occurred.

HPD says she was hostile toward officers on the scene while they attempted to conduct a field sobriety test, and she was placed in handcuffs. After further resistance, she was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for a medical clearance, and she refused a blood draw. The arrest report states that she put her hands on medical staff and yelled at them while she was in the hospital.

She was taken to the Christian County Jail and is being charged with driving under influence, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and other traffic violations.
