HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man urinating by a playground in Hopkinsville was approached by officers at 6 p.m. on Monday, leading to an indecent exposure charge.
The Hopkinsville Police Department says officers were already in the area responding to a burglary in progress on April 20 when two individuals flagged down officers at the East Second Street Park.
A 51-year-old Hopkinsville man was found lying on the ground, and officers were told that the suspect was sitting at the pavilion with a group of people, and then he stood next to their table and exposed himself by urinating. Three minors were at the table when this occurred and there were around 10 more kids at the nearby playground.
A man from the table that the suspect was sitting at, got up and “took care of it,” according to the police report, and left prior to police arrival.
An arrest report from HPD says the suspect was incredibly intoxicated and could barely tell officers his name. They also noted that he had visible injuries to his face. He was treated by EMS and was released.
The suspect was cited for indecent exposure and public intoxication.
