HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A driver landed in a ditch on Country Club Lane after destroying a mailbox and utility pole.

A collision report from Hopkinsville Police Department says the accident occurred around midnight on Oct. 23 near Cox Mill Road. The vehicle was found overturned in a ditch with the driver sitting next to the vehicle. It was determined by officers that the driver had a possible head injury, and the driver later admitted to drinking tequila.

Officers report that tire tracks on the scene revealed the path of the accident. The mailbox in front of 108 Country Club Lane was ripped out, and the utility pole nearby was struck and pulled out of the ground. Tire tracks continued through neighboring yards where the car was discovered, along with the broken utility pole.

The driver went to Jennie Stuart Medical Center to be treated for possible injuries. No charges have been filed at this time.
