CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An election that will decide the next Christian County Sheriff and determine the standing of Hopkinsville’s current mayor is just a week away, with early voting kicking off May 14-16.
Any registered voter in Christian County can participate in early voting, which will take place at the following locations in Hopkinsville from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday:
- Christian County Senior Center
- The Bruce Convention Center
- Boys & Girls Club of Hopkinsville
Voters will decide between two candidates for sheriff, current Sheriff Tyler DeArmond and Erik Pacheco with Hopkinsville Police. They will choose between three Republican mayoral candidates, Hopkinsville Mayor James R. Knight, Christian County Magistrate Russ Guffey and former Hopkinsville City Councilmember Natasha Francis.
Democratic mayoral candidate Markeeta Oldham Wilkerson will go head-to-head with the winner of the primary this November.
The primary election includes certain contested Christian County Fiscal Court and Hopkinsville City Council seats as well as PVA. Also on the ballot is U.S. Senator for the 1st Congressional District, and U.S. Representative. Find the sample ballot for Christian County here.
Voters are able to check their registration status on the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Voter Information Center website or can visit the Christian County Clerks Office. After early voting, Election Day will be May 19.
