HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The City of Hopkinsville is inviting residents to help shape the future of parks, recreation, and aquatic amenities by participating in a new community recreation needs survey launching today.

The survey is designed to gather public input as the city evaluates future recreation investments and long-term opportunities for facilities and amenities across Hopkinsville. Community feedback will help city leaders better understand resident priorities regarding Bluegrass Splash Family Aquatic Center, parks, trails, sports facilities, indoor recreation opportunities, playgrounds, and other community amenities.

The survey asks residents about their current use of city parks and recreation facilities, their thoughts on the future of aquatic recreation in Hopkinsville, and whether they would support renovating the existing Bluegrass Splash facility or developing a new aquatic center if funding were available.

Participants are also asked to identify amenities they would like to see included in future aquatic facilities, such as splash pads, indoor aquatics, wave pools, expanded children’s areas, accessibility improvements, and additional family-friendly features.

In addition, the survey seeks feedback on alternative uses for the Bluegrass Splash site should the city choose not to invest in the waterpark, as well as broader recreation priorities such as trails and greenways, sports facilities, playgrounds, indoor recreation spaces, community event venues, youth and senior activity centers, and other quality-of-life amenities.

The survey is available online at www.hoptown.org/survey and will remain open until Sunday, July 12.

The city encourages residents of all ages to participate, whether they are frequent users of parks and recreation facilities or simply want to share their ideas for future community investments. All responses are anonymous and your candor is very much appreciated. Surveys will be reviewed and considered as city leaders evaluate future recreation planning and investment opportunities.
