HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect from 11 a.m. on June 29 through July 3 in Hopkinsville and Christian County. Dangerously hot conditions with are expected with the heat index expected to rise to the triple digits.
The National Weather Service in Paducah is predicting that temperatures will stay in the mid-90s in western Kentucky this week. The head index will start at 109 on Monday, reaching 110 degrees by Thursday before starting to slightly decrease. Overnight temperatures will stay in the high 70s.
Heat related illnesses have the potential to increase significantly during these extreme heat events.
