OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Current Oak Grove Mayor Jackie Oliver announced on May 15 that she will seek re-election.

“It has been the honor of my life to serve as your mayor. When I first took office, I promised to work tirelessly to move our community forward,” said a statement from Mayor Oliver. “Today, I am proud to say that Oak Grove is progressing like never before, and I am officially announcing my candidacy for re-election to continue this incredible momentum.”

Oliver served on the Oak Grove City Council for six years before winning the 2022 election for mayor. She shared that in her next term she will focus on the following points.

  • Attracting even more diverse businesses to boost the local economy.
  • Ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with new subdivisions.
  • Preserving the tight-knit, welcoming community spirit that makes Oak Grove so special.

Her candidacy announcement continued to say, “While we have achieved so much, our journey is far from over. This growth is just the foundation. I am running for re-election because I want to ensure that Oak Grove continues to grow smartly, sustainably, and successfully.”

She is currently up against two other candidates who are both serving on the city council. Councilmember John Campbell previously announced his candidacy for mayor in February, and in early April, Councilmember Janet Edwards also announced her mayoral run.

The mayoral race will take place in November; Oak Grove has nonpartisan races and does not participate in the May primary election. The nonpartisan deadline in Christian County to file for the November 2026 election is June 2.
