PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Pembroke Fire Department has teamed up with other fire crews in Kentucky to provide aid and support as emergency services clear away tornado damage.

“Two years ago, these same agencies called me and offered everything and anything they had to help, and it was only right to be able to repay the favor back to Todd County and their citizens,” said Pembroke Fire Chief Nicholas Belair.

Around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, they received calls from neighboring county fire departments, and they were quick to get people together to help. They sent the Deputy Chief, and four other staff members to aid with search and rescue operations and initial debris removal. They have been working with the Allensville, Todd County and Trenton Fire Departments.

Chief Belair said they will gladly provide support wherever it’s needed.

“Overall, it appears many Todd County residents were spared by the quick response and proactive measures by Todd County Fire Departments. This major incident was handled in an efficient and timely manner,” said Belair. “Anything that was asked of us, our members provided, we were there to support Allensville and Trenton Fire Departments in any way we could.”

Right now, Todd County is in need of water donations, which can be dropped off at the Allensville Fire Deparment at 975 Joe Gill Road.
