HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A winter weather advisory will remain in effect until 9 a.m. on Friday in Christian County with temperatures getting up to 34 degrees.
A mix of light precipitation including snow and freezing rain in expected, according to the National Weather Service. Another round of light snow is possible late Thursday with a layer of ice and minor snow accumulation possible.
They are warning drivers that the ice accumulation will likely impact roads and make driving conditions more hazardous.
“A wintry mix of light snow and light freezing rain is expected later today, with our main concern across western Kentucky where hazardous travel is likely to develop due to light accumulations of ice,” said the National Weather Service of Paducah on Facebook. “Very light snow accumulations are possible tonight, especially in northern and eastern portions of the forecast area. Then we’re in the deep freeze with wind chills below zero through week’s end.”
