HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The next History on Tap, hosted by the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, will be focusing on Christian County’s rich, dark history of slavery.
During the program on Feb. 29, biographies written about slaves by a local journalist in 1934 will be discussed to provide a glimpse into a part of the past that is not well documented, according to a news release from the museum. They hope this program will help people better understand the depth of the community’s history.
Current and former members of the Museum’s and Hopkinsville History Foundation’s Board of Directors will share the stories of these people who lived through so much.
History on Tap is a free series that seeks to share local history in a relaxed, fun setting. Programs are typically held on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Hopkinsville Brewing Company. For more information, visit the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County Facebook page, or call them at 270-887-4270.
