HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man who was caught breaking into a house over the weekend told deputies he was an FBI agent trying to kill a bear.

On Friday, deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding a burglary on Butler Road. The resident who called 911 told dispatch a man broke into their home, broke windows, and kicked in the door. The caller and others were able to detain the suspect until deputies arrived, according to a news release from CCSO.

When CCSO took over the scene, the 34-year-old suspect told deputies he was an FBI agent who was going to kill a grizzly bear that was being kept in the home. In the arrest report, the arresting deputy stated that the man was manifestly under the influence of a narcotic.

The suspect was transported to Christian County Jail, and is being charged with burglary, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief.
