HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Tuesday morning, a burglary suspect breaking into a house on Bella Court was apprehended by an armed neighbor.
The resident of the house told Hopkinsville Police he heard a loud knock at his door and didn’t recognize the man outside. After the resident yelled out, “Wrong house,” the suspect kicked in the door and started fighting with the resident in the doorway of the house and onto the front porch. A neighbor heard the fight and grabbed his firearm, according to a police report.
The neighbor was able to stop the fighting and waited for law enforcement to arrive by holding the suspect at gunpoint. The suspect told police he was drunk and admitted he had broken into the wrong house.
He was arrested and charged with second degree burglary and transported to the Christian County Jail.
