HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Multiple groups in Hopkinsville are teaming up to throw an eclipse watch party on April 8. Although totality will not be visible in this area, people can view the partial eclipse while also commemorating Christian County’s place as the Point of Greatest Eclipse for the Great American Eclipse back in 2017.

The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, Visit Hopkinsville, and Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation will be hosting the watch party between noon and 4 p.m. at the Hopkinsville Visitor’s Center. The partial eclipse will begin before 1 p.m. and will be at its greatest at 2:03 p.m.

The festivities for the afternoon include food trucks, crafts, snacks, games, and music, according to a news release from the museum.

This event is free and open to the public. Eclipse glasses must be worn to view the eclipse, which will be for sale at the Hopkinsville Visitor’s Center while supplies last. For more information, contact the Visitors Center at 270-887-2300 or the Museums at 270-887-4270.
