HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 20-year-old man was rushed to the hospital Monday night after being stabbed several times.

Officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department arrived on the scene around 10:30 p.m., according to a police report. After a brief investigation, they determined the victim was stabbed approximately six to eight times in the torso, ribs, and in his hands, causing serious physical injury.

The victim was rushed to Jennie Stuart for treatment and was transferred to an out of state hospital for trauma care due to his injuries. As of this morning, his injuries are non-life threatening and he is in stable condition.

Officers located the 21-year-old male suspect on North Main Street. He told police that the incident started over Facebook posts that disrespected him and his family. The suspect also said he threw the knife away. He was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.
