HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged after breaking into a Burger King on Fort Campbell Boulevard and stealing $1,500.
The suspect gained entry to the building by throwing a rock through the window, he was then able to gain access to the safe, according to a police report. The damage was discovered the morning of April 3 by Hopkinsville Police.
Officers were able to locate the suspect in his home after reviewing video footage from the restaurant, an accomplice who was acting as a lookout was also found on video. The suspects were brought into the police station for questioning.
A search warrant was executed by Hopkinsville Police on the man’s home, where the money was recovered. A gun and marijuana were also found in the residence. The suspect is being charged with burglary in the third degree, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and drug possession. His accomplice is also facing a burglary complicity charge.
