HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Since 1951, the Western Kentucky State Fair has been held in Hopkinsville with community members and families flocking each summer to enjoy rides, agriculture and fun for the past 75 years. The nine-day celebration will start on June 26, ending with the City of Hopkinsville’s fireworks show on July 4.

Enthusiasts will pack the stands at the Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds during a packed schedule events at the grandstand. Expect a mud race, demolition derby, truck and tractor pulls, Arenacross, go-kart races and more. Dozens of carnival rides, local vendors and food will also be featured at the fair.

A key element of the fair is when 4-H and FFA students from across Western Kentucky come to show off their livestock in various competitions with swine, cattle, rabbits, poultry, goats and sheep. Simultaneously, over at the convention center, there will be line dancing, a hot dog eating contest, a comedy show, live music, and a corn hole tournament culminating in a live United Championship Wrestling show.

Multiple pageants will be held throughout the week as well to crown the best in Western Kentucky including Miss, Ms./Mrs., Ms. Plus, youth pageants along with infant, baby and tiny tot. Registration is open until June 13.

Since the final day of the fair is on the Fourth of July, Hopkinsville will host their annual fireworks show at the fairgrounds to close out the night at 9:15 p.m. For a detailed schedule of events and daily opening times, visit the Western Kentucky State Fair website.
