HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – “They are the final chapter of a historic legacy,” Hopkinsville and Christian County High School both held their commencement ceremonies on May 22 for the graduating classes of 2026. After a last-minute change in location due to weather, families packed the school’s gyms and the Performing Arts Center to celebrate this milestone as a community.

These two commencements marked the final time that the CCHS Colonels and the HHS Tigers would walk across the stage separately, with these historic classes being the final graduates before consolidation. Each ceremony unpacked the decades of history each school holds, encouraging future students and graduates to come together as Christian County Tigers in the fall.

Leading up to graduation, several special events were planned to honor seniors including a walk through the halls of their former schools, giving them a chance to interact with future generations.

Earlier this week, alternative programs had a separate graduation ceremony where just under 75 students enrolled in Bluegrass Learning Academy and Virtual Learning Academy were able to receive their diplomas with their families.
