HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Christian County Public Library is dedicating the next few days to raise money for new parcel lockers that will allow patrons to access holds when the library is not open.
“Right now, patrons are only able to pick up holds inside the building during our normal business hours,” said Tiffany Luna, Executive Direcor of HCCPL. “With a holds locker, patrons can put items on hold, choose the holds locker as their pick-up location, and collect their borrowed library materials at their convenience.”
Patrons will be able to scan their library card to access a locker containing their holds materials including books, movies, audiobooks, and video games. “Our fundraising goal is to purchase a holds locker with 16 units, but moving forward we will have the ability to add more units to meet our community’s needs,” Luna added.
Until Sept. 13, the library is holding a digital fundraiser where people can purchase DoubleGood Popcorn and help raise funds. Half of the money raised will go to creating the lockers. Popcorn can be purchased on the HCCPL Digital Pop-Up Shop.
