Peggy Joyce Vinson passed away after a long illness on Sunday morning, November 3, 2024, at her home in Borden, IN. Her daughter was by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with Allen Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Peggy was born on October 12, 1935, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Willie Glen and Gertrude Greeson. After raising her children and working various jobs, Peggy went to college and earned her LPN license. Peggy joined the staff at Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville as an LPN, and while working at Western State Hospital as an LPN, Peggy went back to college and earned her RN license. Peggy then advanced to an RN position at Western State Hospital, and she worked there until she retired. Her family is very proud of her academic accomplishments.

Peggy loved her family, her pets (her “girls”), her church families (especially the one at Skyline church of Christ), and her friends. She was a gifted seamstress, made beautiful quilts, and did all kinds of crafts. She also was an avid doll collector and a member of the Pennyrile Doll Club.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson (Jeremy Wayne McGahee), and a son-in-law (Joe Porter).

Peggy leaves behind a loving family of six children, six grandchildren, and many great grandchildren to cherish her memories. Children – Ron (Debbie) Routson, Nashville; Clint (Wendy) Routson, Emerald Isle; Glenda Routson, Hopkinsville; Sharon Porter, Borden; Cynthia Hall, Hopkinsville; and Traci Vinson (Kent) Drew, Ft Walton Beach. Grandchildren – Victoria Kelley, Jennifer Kelley, Chelsea Kelley, Kelsey Drew, Weldon Hall and Amber Pfeiffer.
