HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Heat Advisory is in effect for Christian County beginning at noon on July 17 through 7 p.m. tonight. According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, heat index values between 105 and 109 degrees are expected ahead of possible storms.

There is currently a 60% chance of storms and showers in the afternoon, which may provide some relief from the heat. The incoming weather has the potential to produce torrential rain and gusty winds.

NWS is advising that residents remain hydrated and stay out of the sun. Those who need to be outside should limit strenuous activities to the early morning and evening.
