HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southeastern Christian County, in effect until 1:45 p.m. on Monday.

At 1:05 p.m., radar indicated a severe thunderstorm near Oak Grove moving southeast at about 10 miles per hour. The storm is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.

Officials warn residents to expect possible hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Communities in the storm’s path include Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, Fort Campbell, Clarksville, Guthrie, Pembroke, and Trenton. Impacted highways include Interstate 24 between mile markers 80 and 92 and the Pennyrile Parkway between mile markers one and eight.

Residents are urged to seek shelter indoors, stay away from windows, and monitor local weather updates as the storm moves through the area.
