HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The head coach of the Christian County High School football team has been put on a brief administrative leave for unspecified reasons.

A news release from Christian County Public Schools on Oct. 26 says that Head Football Coach Dustin Lopez has been placed on administrative leave from his coaching duties, which will be in effect through the next scheduled varsity game of the CCHS Tigers.

“This decision follows a failure to meet the standards of expectations set by the district for its coaches. CCPS holds all coaches to high standards and expects those standards to be met consistently,” said CCPS.

More information about the details leading to this decision have not been released at this time. Assistant coaches will lead the team during his absence and there will be no disruption to practice or game schedules.

CCPS says Coach Lopez is expected to resume his head coaching responsibilities following the next varsity contest.
