HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Police Department tried to initiate a traffic stop Tuesday night when the vehicle refused to pull over and fled at speeds over 80 mph in a 35 mph zone while it was raining.

The driver disregarded multiple stops signs and a traffic control device, according to a police report. The vehicle eventually crashed near South Campbell Street. After a search, police found a bag of marijuana, a scale and two buprenorphine sublingual films. Officers also noted the vehicle smelled like marijuana.

After a more thorough search, multiple checks were found that appeared altered. Officers also discovered a stack of printer paper with blank checks printed on them, a printer, laptop, card reader, and multiple phones. The driver and the two passengers of the vehicle were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, and forgery.

The driver is facing seven additional charges including fleeing, wanton endangerment and possession.
