HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Fire Department worked overnight on Monday extinguishing multiple fires at a storage unit warehouse on Charles Garnett Drive.

According to HFD, stations were alerted by a caller who noticed smoke coming from storage units just before 8 p.m. The fire quickly spread resulting in all four HFD stations being dispatched. Off duty personnel arrived on scene to ensure coverage throughout the city and provide necessary backup.

“It’s too early to tell what, if anything, will be salvageable,” said HFD spokesperson Payton Rogers. “The building was well involved with fire and had a heavy volume of items inside as you can imagine, which is making it difficult to sort through.”

Fire crews worked for hours to locate multiple fires for complete extinguishment. As of Tuesday morning, they wrapped up their operations. All renters of By-Pass Self Storage on Charles Garnett Drive are encouraged to contact the property with any questions at 270-886-5515.

Hopkinsville Fire Department is still investigating the cause of the fire and no injuries have been reported.
