OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An entire neighborhood off of Hugh Hunter Road in Oak Grove is being affected by an unexpected water outage that occurred on Tuesday morning.

In a public statement released around 10 a.m., the City of Oak Grove said that residents with homes on the following roads are directly affected by the outage.

  • Pappy Drive
  • Chase Court
  • Brandy Court
  • Pepper Court
  • Ruff Drive
  • Millie Drive

According to Mayor Jackie Oliver, the outage was caused by accidental damage when a contractor hit a mainline. Once the water has been restored to the area, a Boil Water Advisory will be in effect for up to 72 hours. In these instances, the recommendation is to use commercially bottled water or boil tap water before consuming it to eliminate possible contamination.

The city will alert residents when the advisory has lifted.
