HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The community celebrated fall break by attending a block party at the Christian County Health Department Thursday afternoon. This annual event brings hundreds of local residents together for a free day of fun in an effort to strengthen ties and provide resources.
Cloie Rager, communications director with CCHD told Christian County Now that the Back to Health Block Party has continued to grow each year. It initially started as a way to be more front facing after the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained a community staple through grant funds and local support.

Dozens of local organizations and businesses set up at the health department, providing information and goodies to attendees. For kids there were balloon animals, face painting, games, a touch-a-truck and bouncy houses and free hot dogs were available.
The central location of the event at the health department allows nearby community members to walk and bike over, which gives CCHD staff a sense of pride in their neighborhood. Rager hopes that continued transparency with events like this will remind the public of the variety of services they offer and the support they can offer year-round.
