HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Widespread showers and possible scattered storms are forecasted for this weekend in Hopkinsville and Christian County as a hurricane is anticipated to hit the United States.

“Remnants of Isaias will bring rain to our region this weekend, with amounts ranging from one quarter of an inch to around an inch, with localized higher amounts,” said a statement from the National Weather Service in Paducah.

Temperatures will stay in the low 70s, with rain clearing up by Sunday afternoon.

  • Friday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 88. East southeast wind 5 to 9 mph.
  • Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. East wind 3 to 6 mph.
  • Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. High near 71. East northeast wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
  • Saturday night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a chance of showers. Low around 60. East northeast wind 12 to 17 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
  • Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers before 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Light and variable wind becoming west northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
  • Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58. Light southwest wind.
