HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Areas of Hopkinsville and Christian County are submerged in high floodwater as continued showers subside after multiple days of downpours. As rain moves out of the region, some roadways are beginning to reopen, but further closures should be expected, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The following roads maintained by Hopkinsville Public Works in city limits are closed due to flooding. They are telling the public to not drive around barricades.
- West Ninth Street from South Main Street to West Seventh Street
- Means Avenue from North Main Street to Boales Avenue
- Sarah Avenue from North Main Street to Braden Street
- Christian Quarry Road from East Ninth Street to McGown Street
- Bethel Street at West Ninth Street
- Riverfront Drive and West Fifth Street
- Old Clarksville Pike
- Marietta Drive (between Michael Avenue and West Riverwood Drive
- East 21st Street at Woodmill Road
- North Drive (from West Second Street to Glass Avenue
- 100 Block of South Elm Street
- Woodmill Road
- Hurst Drive and Oakhurst Drive

High water signs have been placed by KYTC and the Christian County Sheriff’s Office at the following locations around Christian County.

Pembroke and Oak Grove
Pembroke Fire Department is reporting that multiple roads have water across the roadway. Pembroke Oak Grove Road is closed from Mason Lane to Anderson Road, Spring Street is closed from Cross Street to Jackson Street, and Pruitt Lane is closed.
“Due to recent flooding in the area, we want to ensure the safety of all residents,” said a statement from the City of Oak Grove. They encouraged anyone in need of a rescue to contact the dispatch immediately at 270-439-4602. Dozens have already been rescued from their homes in Oak Grove. Heavy flooding is taking place around Man O War Drive between Swale Court and Kingman Court.
