HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Kentucky State Police is involved in a homicide investigation that resulted in the arrest of a juvenile in Christian County early Monday.
On Aug. 24 just after midnight, deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were given an alert that a juvenile wanted in connection with a homicide in another county could be in the area. The juvenile’s vehicle was ultimately found at Woodland Heights apartments on Greenville Road.
The Hopkinsville Police Department added that they utilized a FLOCK camera in Hopkinsville to successfully locate the suspect’s vehicle. A statement from HPD said, “This is one example of how technology can serve as an important tool for law enforcement. FLOCK cameras help officers identify vehicles associated with wanted persons, missing or endangered individuals, stolen vehicles, and other active investigations.”
Law enforcement then identified an apartment connected to the juvenile, and after speaking with a woman there, deputies and Hopkinsville Police officers, took the juvenile into custody, according to a news release from CCSO.
The investigation is being handled by KSP Post 16, which serves Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio and Union County. Christian County Now has reached out for more information about the investigation.
