HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hoptown Hoppers discussed their upcoming season, their roster, and their home opener at Hopkinsville Rotary Club on Tuesday.

“I am excited to get the season started and we have a great group here,” said first-year Hopper Coach Jarrod Brissenden.

With over 30 players from all over Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and nearby states the Hoptown Hoppers play in the Ohio Valley League since 2012. Host families around the community house the players for the summer season which will continue through late July.

“I am grateful for all our host families and support in this community,” Brissenden said. “We have depth and a lot of versatility in these guys.”

Brissenden also discussed his baseball style, saying he is a runner and as a coach, he holds three records in a prospect league for stolen bases. “I think I have some rabbits here and we’re going to steal some bases and have some fun.”

The Hoppers’ schedule spans 40-45 games, culminating in playoffs scheduled from July 20 to July 30. Promising a family-friendly, affordable, and entertaining experience, fans can anticipate thrilling matches throughout the season.

To catch the excitement firsthand, mark your calendars for their first home game at Hopkinsville High School this Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $5, offering an affordable outing for sports enthusiasts.
